09/27/1947 - Formation of the Church of South India
On this day, the Church of South India (CSI), became the first united church in the world formed on the basis of both episcopal and non-episcopal traditions.
03/18/1984 - Founding Day
In 1984, we officially established our church of the CSI Congregation of Greater Chicago, bringing together our community in faith and fellowship.
10/22/1994 - First Service as Christ Church of Chicago
The church purchased the location at 5857 West Giddings St., and this was also the first service as the officially renamed "CSI Christ Church of Chicago".
01/05/2025 - First Service at Des Plaines
Since January 5th, 2025, we have been worshiping at our new location: 1095 Thacker Street, Des Plaines, IL, while actively searching for a permanent worship space that is conveniently located for all our members. Our journey is one of faith and unity, and we invite everyone to join us in this mission.
